23 people killed in Ohio accidents over holiday weekend

The death toll on Ohio's highways experienced a rise during the recent four-day holiday weekend, surpassing the numbers from the previous year.

A total of 23 individuals lost their lives in 20 separate crashes, with two fatal accidents involving motorcyclists locally in Akron and Deerfield Township.

Another noteworthy incident involved a severe collision between two motorcycles in Stark County, which involved a rider losing a leg.

Last Memorial Day weekend witnessed 18 fatalities due to crashes across the state.

State authorities, specifically the State Highway Patrol, responded to the surge in traffic-related fatalities by conducting 399 impaired driving arrests throughout Ohio. These arrests aimed to address the issue of impaired driving and ensure public safety on the roads.
